Kloster Obermarchtal

The former Premonstratensian Monastery at Obermarchtal on the Danube, with the abbey church of St Peter and St Paul, is a Baroque jewel. The white stucco decoration inside the church is breath-taking. The church also contains numerous art treasures. The main organ, now placed under a conservation order, is housed in a Rococo casing. The refectory, also called the dining hall, is another of the treasures of Obermarchtal. 12 large and 150 small mirrors reflect the images of the colourful frescoes.
